About McCyber

McCyber is an independent research outlet analysing how technology, money, infrastructure, power, ethics, influence and law impact one another in the digital age — how technology, states and companies reshape one another, and what that means for the people caught between them.

It was founded by experts in technology and geopolitics to provide clear, evidence-based analysis of the systems that govern modern life.

What we believe

McCyber is committed to constitutional democracy: not because open societies are flawless, but because they can correct their mistakes without violence. That is a preference, not a claim of perfection. We examine the failures of democratic governments and companies as plainly as those of authoritarian states, and we try to separate regimes from the peoples and civilisations they govern. Facts come before posture: we show our sources, make uncertainty visible, and state the strongest counter-reading before we conclude.

McCyber publishes two formats:

  • Essays — long-form arguments and deep analysis
  • Snapshots — short, timely reads on single developments

All work is guided by three principles:

  • Independence
  • Clarity
  • Evidence-based reasoning

Standards and corrections

How we work. Every contestable factual claim links to original reporting or a primary source. We distinguish verified fact, credible allegation, analytical assessment and speculation, and attribute allegations to whoever made them. Where we have only seen a source through a secondary outlet, we say so. McCyber makes extensive use of AI tools for research, drafting, editing and production.

Corrections. Essays are dated records and are not silently edited after publication. If we get something wrong, we append a dated correction note to the piece and list it on our corrections page. To report an error, email j.m@mccyber.tech.
